What We Do

The 'vision' of the Constable Care Child Safety Foundation is for a Western Australia where every child understands the need for respect for others and has the opportunity to live in a safe and supportive community.

We work towards making this vision a reality by communicating key safety and citizenship concepts to children through performance-based education.

In all that we do and wherever we go, Constable Care staff strive to live our key values of inspiration, respect, integrity and professionalism.

Research shows that the first years of a child’s life are crucial in setting the foundation for lifelong learning, behaviour and health outcomes.

Early intervention programs such as ours have been found to provide many psychological and social benefits to children, families and communities, including:

  • higher rates of employment and skill levels later in life
  • decreased welfare expenditure
  • increased school performance
  • lower rates of criminality
  • a reduction in child abuse and neglect

Through Constable Care’s 'education through entertainment' approach, potentially damaging patterns of behaviour can be addressed before they develop into personal and social problems. Constable Care programs focus on three key areas:

  • Protective education, including road and bike safety, alcohol, drugs and poisons, smoking, stranger danger and protective behavours
  • Crime prevention, including bullying and cyber bullying, and anti-social behaviours such as graffiti, vandalism and theft,
  • Respect and Responsibility, including self-respect, respect for the environment, property and the police, and decision making skills
